A new study Bible for me.

I admit I am a Bible junkie.... I have almost every Bible I have ever owned and even one that belonged to my sweet granny. I love them for different reasons some being the type study Bible, note taking, coloring and some for the translation. When I got my CSB She Reads Bible back around December it was because I really wanted one with note taking space. I was going from a Women's NKJ version to a CSB and from no note taking space to a lot of space. Part of me wanted to stay with a Women's Bible but I also wanted to try a new translation. During that time the CSB Women's Study Bible was a rumored thing but not really announced yet. Then it went up for preorder on Amazon. I however being the person who HATES waiting went with the She Reads which I do not regret at all!! Then in April the CSB Women's Study Bible was released and I had a chance to review it thank you to B&H Publishing/Lifeway for this opportunity. The CSB Women's study Bible is very pretty!! It comes in 3 options: hardback that is greenish/beige, the soft cover that is a turquoise and floral and the brown leather. Today I will be talking about the softcover and the hardcover. The three vary by material used for the cover and the look on the outside but on the inside all three are the same. The softcover is by far my favorite out of all three and falls in the middle as far as price range. The hardcover is a bit plain for me. I am not a complete hardback person anyways so that may be just me. However if  you or the person you are buying the Bible for uses a fabric cover etc then the hardcover would be very budget friendly and still gives you content and the beautiful interior pages. I think the floral theme is very feminine but classic. It is a very women's Bible without being overly girlie. The time line pinks are more a coral. When I first saw the colors used I thought of reading this bible on the beach somewhere because the colors sent me to that peaceful mindset.
The softcover is on top and the hardback on bottom.
My favorite like I said though is the softcover!! It is a fair amount lighter than the hardback and about the same size. Again the cover is all that really varies with these three... The content is the same and each one has the beautiful floral like theme through out. The reason I personally love Women's Study Bibles is because well I am a women. I am a wife, mother, daughter and all the other things that go with being a women. It is nice to have a Bible that focuses on that. I have read other reviews of this Bible and I can see how they feel some would not relate to all aspects of this Bible (mainly the views of the authors). However when I read the "Extras" that come in study Bible etc, unless it is factorial I take it with a grain of salt. The things that are "written" by the authors are just that written by humans..like you and like me... They are biased like anything we as humans do. They do reference verses that they used to get the information they are relaying. (Most of the area of debate is in the section called Hard Questions. It has questions about different topics and then references verses where you read and then has a little section that goes over that for each question. They are what I consider tradition Bible teachings if that makes sense. I have note read all of the extras so I am not going to go into future detail regarding them. If you are not wanting something that is very traditional then this may not be for you. In that case I highly suggest the She Reads Truth Bible. It comes in various colors and textures. I do love the time lines, the way the chapters are set up and the character profiles and the intro to each chapter. The font is decent sized, comparing it to my CSB She Reads Bible I would say it it a wee bit bigger. The one thing that drawls me to study Bibles in general is the added information regarding the passages. I am a researcher who loves diving into the meanings of words and background information. Study Bibles give that to you. They will take longer to read a whole chapter if you read the extra information about it opposed to just reading the passage though but isn't that the point?
From the left to right: The softcover comes in a box and the hardback comes with a sleeve.
The only thing I wish this Bible had was more note space but again I am a huge note taker and love writing things that pop out to me in the margins which is why I went with the CSB She Reads Bible. I do love owning the both of these though and use them together. I make my notes in my She Reads and then read the extra information in the Women's Study. **From another source (my mom) she really loves the look of the Bible and even the hardback which is what she wanted. I gave her the option to choose and she said she would take the hardback, although I think she knew how much I am in love with the softcover and that played a role in her choice. The only negative things she said was she was turned off by was the font size. She said she would have to wear her glasses and it may be hard for her to read it in church because of the lighting etc. She really loves the information, timelines and the interior floral design. My dad also sat down and looked at it and thought it was "pretty and nice".
Have any of you checked this Bible out?? What do you think of it?? **Please note if you receive my blog post via email that this blog uses affiliate programs to fund it. All my legal information can be found under the legal tab.
