You should start your day with a good helping of fiber!
Mornings set the tone for everything that follows. Taking even a few quiet minutes before the rush begins helps me feel grounded and ready for the day ahead. Whether it is a warm cup of coffee, a few stitches with yarn, or a moment of prayer, starting the day intentionally gives my heart the right posture to handle whatever comes next.
When I slow down first, I find I am better able to move through the day with patience, purpose, and gratitude. Those small, quiet moments remind me that the day does not have to be rushed to be productive. A gentle start helps me carry peace into whatever lies ahead.
How do you like to start your mornings?
Are you a
• Coffee first, everything later person
• Quiet and slow starter
• Creative before the day begins
• Jump right in and go
I would love to hear which one fits you best.
Knitting Details from the Morning Photo
The knitting you see in the photo is the Honey Cowl by Antonia Shankland. This project has been somewhat comforting knit and has worked well for slow, quiet mornings when I want something rhythmic and steady in my hands. For this project, I am using commercial yarns from Cascade Yarns along with yarn purchased from Yarns by HPF. The yarn from Yarns by HPF is a local hand-dyed yarn.
The Cascade Yarns Cascade 220 Heathers. I have 220 yards in stash, which equals one skein, or 220 yards (201.2 meters), and weighs 100 grams. The colorway is Burnt Pumpkin 2453 with dye lot 5114. It falls within the brown color family more than orange, and was also purchased at Yarns By HPF brick and mortar store.
I am also using Yarns by HPF in a Domestic Alpaca base. I have 167 yards (152.7 meters), and it is 80 grams. The colorway includes rusts and browns.
I think I am going to love how these yarns will work together, both in texture and color. The warm browns and rust tones feel grounding and cozy, which fits perfectly with intentional mornings and quiet time before the day begins. This project has been a reminder that simple stitches, thoughtful yarn choices, and a peaceful start can make even an ordinary morning feel meaningful.
