Christmas Yarn Gifts, Knitting Bags, and a Very Happy Stash
I do have some family members who still do not quite understand my love of yarn and knitting or crochet, so they were a little hesitant to shop for me this year. Instead, they gave me money, told me to shop for myself, and then stick it under the tree. You might be thinking that takes the fun out of it, knowing what you are getting, but for me, it means I can get about twice as much because I am a die-hard bargain shopper.
I love knitting with nicer yarns, but I just cannot see myself paying twenty-eight dollars for a single skein. Twenty dollars is usually my max. I do have a few skeins that cost more than that, maybe three total, and those were special occasion yarns.
So these are my gifts, and I wanted to go into a little detail in case something catches your eye.
Let’s start on the table.

The red, pink, and purple striped sock yarn is Knit Picks Imagination Sock Yarn in Rose Red. The light purple skein is Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Sugar Plum. The blue is Madelinetosh Tosh Merino in Betty Draper’s Blues. The red skein is Malabrigo Arroyo in Juniper, and the greenish neutral is Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Tern.
In the back row, there are Cascade Yarns 220 Heathers in orange and purple. Propped against the bag is Knit Picks Imagination Sock Yarn in Ruby Slippers.
The purple bag and the teal bag on the floor are Jordana Paige knitting bags. Jordana Paige is a well-known company specializing in stylish knitting and crochet bags designed specifically for fiber artists. They were known for thoughtful interior layouts, project pockets, and durable construction. My bags were bought secondhand because I could not afford them new, but I was thrilled to find them.
The rolags are from Ivy Rash on Etsy:

The red and purple solid skeins are Deborah Norville Collection Serenity.
The wooden sheep is a wraps-per-inch tool from Girl on the Rocks on Etsy:

There are also stitch markers from Such Gwenderful Stuff on Etsy in the Winter Night colorway:

They reminded me of the Night’s Watch in Game of Thrones.
On the floor, you can see Red Heart Super Saver skeins from Walmart’s Black Friday sale. There is also the Knit and Purl book from Interweave. I found my copy at Books-A-Million on clearance for five dollars, which still makes me smile. Simply Knitting magazine is there as well, which is my favorite knitting magazine.
You can also see more Knit Picks Imagination Sock Yarn in Looking Glass and Loch Ness. Last but not least is my sewing machine bag from Jo-Ann, another Black Friday deal.I am feeling pretty blessed, to say the least. I was also given sheep pajamas from Kohl’s and cute black and white slippers with a Fair Isle snowflake pattern. The slippers are from Walmart and are surprisingly cozy.
Every bit of yarn you see here was at least fifty to seventy percent off, which makes my bargain-loving heart very happy.
I already have most of this yarn paired with patterns, and you can see all of that on my Ravelry queue.
I would love to see what you got. Share a picture on my Facebook page or here in the comments.
I hope you all had a lovely time with family and friends during the holiday. I hope you received everything you wanted, but more importantly, I hope you felt peace and joy and that special feeling that comes from being around those you love.
Merry Christmas, and until next time, happy yarning.

I really appreciate your post
