Project Amigo

Have you heard of Project Amgio? I had never till the first of the year when they contacted my local yarn store Yvies asking if any of the patrons would be interested in making squares.

Project Amigo is a non profit organization that supports students from Colima, Mexico, so that they can create their own educational opportunities and better their quality of life. They have a need for 6 inch squares that will be used for afghans that will be distributed to poor families of the students in Mexico who are being sponsored by Project Amigo.

You can find instructions on the squares here. http://www.srbrown.info/knit.pdf They are a very fast knit. They are want wool blends but will take in acrylic but please mark the fiber content. The pattern is also located on Ravelry and can be found here. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-nine-patch.

I used I Love This Wool from Hobby Lobby. It is a wool blend with 80% acrylic and 20% wool. I was able to get about 6 square from each color. I am using color 105 in charcoal and color 140 Mustard. I have all the grey done I just need to weave in ends and block. I have about 4 mustard done as well.

I am so thankful to the wonderful ladies that are knitting some with me. If you want to knit or crochet some please see the link I have provided, I will post it again here http://www.srbrown.info/knit.pdf. The mail to address can be found on that pdf but here is the info as well.

Send as many squares as possible to:
