Birthday Sock Yarn and Gratitude for Family Blessings

My mommy and daddy got me sock yarn for my birthday. I actually ordered it myself after finding free shipping coupons online, so that made it even more fun. All of these are from Knit Picks.

From left to right, we have the red and aqua colorway called Crystal Stroll HandPaint. On top of that is Spooky Felici. The purple-toned yarn is Unicorn Imagination, followed by Seven Dwarves Imagination, and last is Sasquatch Imagination. I have very large feet, so I thought that one was especially fitting. I wear a women’s size twelve shoe. Hey, I am five foot eleven, so they do not really look that large on me.

I am super excited to get my Honey Cowl off my needles so I can finally dive into sock knitting. I have been looking forward to it, and this yarn just makes me want to cast on right away.

More than the yarn itself, though, this gift has me reflecting on how blessed I am. I am incredibly thankful to have parents who are still together and who are actively involved in my life. Even more, I am grateful that they are present in the lives of our boys. That kind of relationship is not something I take lightly. It is a gift, and I thank God for it often.

Moments like this remind me that while yarn is fun and exciting, the real blessing is the love and support that surrounds me every day.
